I am really going to get to the recipe quickly in this post, because that is what it is all about. There is nothing as bad as a very dry brownie. After testing so many brownie recipes I’ve finally nailed it. It’s a basic & simple, yet perfect recipe. I will probably always test brownie recipes to make sure I don’t miss out, but this will now always be my go-to and easy brownie recipe, especially if I don’t have a chocolate that I can melt in my pantry. Butter and cacao is actually and really ALL that you need.

You will need;

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup good quality cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp espresso powder (or normal coffee)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup choc chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Directions;

Mix the butter and sugar first, then add the eggs and the vanilla extract. Fold in the rest. It is really as easy as that. Use baking paper, as it is a sticky and perfect brownie. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes at 150’c (don’t bake it for too long as you might then miss out on the chewy perfection). This recipe could be doubled exactly for more brownies.
Send me a picture if you have made it – I want to know!
