I know I am a jack of all trades and only a master of SOME. I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing. I do know that it gives me the advantage to write about many things. I will write about random philosophies and then the next day I’ll write about my nice colleagues. I scrabble, journal and write it all and that has been the best thing about being a ‘jack’.

I wish to believe that I am a master in some… I hope I am a master in being a wife and then I also hope that I am a master in being a daughter, sister and friend. The rest is still a story to be written.

Gaan kyk ook gerus na dinge waarvan ek hou en dinge waarvan ek nie hou nie; geskryf in die taal waarvan ek die heel meeste hou…

Love, people and diversity enabled me. South Africa, Pretoria and Afrikaans define me. Travelling, exploring, food and red wine describes me. Purpose, passion and grace classified me. Jesus and faith identifies me and the fact that God gave me a chance to believe will equip me.

Often people will say that I am an open book. This is also how I have chosen the name of my blog. I want this to be a real ‘open book’. So I went through the ‘amazingness’ of words and each synonym of the word ‘open’ lead me to the beautiful word ‘sincere’. There it was; Sincerely Kari-Mari… I hope that my words will be genuine, honestly open and frankly natural. Join me on my open book voyage. This voyage will entail the authenticity of some and the master of the honest ‘jack’.
